Over Night Kayaking

If you are looking to enjoy wildlife at its best, spectacular cave systems, fun for the family or friends, and camping alongside the river, this is the adventure for you!! Are you a little more adventurous than the mellow tours? Then, come with us! Join Maya Guide Adventures Team on this 2 day 1 night adventure in one of the most beautiful and spectacular areas of Central America and immerse yourself in this caving-for-the-soul unforgettable adventure. Our topography here is karst lime stone terrain – remnants of marine organisms compacted through the millions of years that have elapsed since the Cretaceous Period.

After a 30 minute drive into the jagged mountains we arrive to the put-in point. The first 30 minutes you meander through the jungle, mountain spurs left and right, river banks so thick in vegetation that it would be impossible to make it through without a sharp machete. Your guide at the front guides you safely through this giant tropical garden. Your second guide brings the tail-end of the group along with lunch made up of fresh cut veggies, condiments and hand-made flour tortillas. If you happen to be vegetarian, leave the smoked ham for me.

At around 2-3pm we set camp and prepare dinner alongside the river beach. We do some hiking in the evening and explore some of the cave chambers where we can find some amazing formations such as a Monkey Face carved on stone by Ancient Maya. After dinner, we set off on a night safari in search of wildlife. After an hour or 2 we get back to camp and rest until next day. We prepare breakfast while you take a refreshing morning swim in the river. After Breakfast, we break up camp and start kayaking for another 2-3 hours in and outside caves and open river. This adventure ends around midday to 1pm on day 2. We are picked up from the exit point and head back to our place, ending so a wonderful and exciting trip you surely will forever remember.
