Cave Tubing

CAVE TUBING ST. HERMAN’S BLUE HOLE NATIONAL PARK (away from cruise-ship-tourism)!

Belize is the only country in the Western Hemisphere where this fun, relaxing and mystic activity has achieved great expectations. Combine water, caving and archaeology in Belize and we have caving for the soul. Cave Tubing is a physically mellow adventure, relaxing, rejuvenating yet adventurous. In Belize it is very rare to find a cave without any evidence that the ancient Maya were there performing their sacred ceremonies millennia ago, it is precisely this that makes caving in Belize so interesting. Caves were to them portals to a spiritual world, the realm of spirits on their quest for the heavens.

Your guide will be waiting for you at the visitor center with all needed equipment. During the 10 minute hike to the cave entrance your guide will introduce you to the diverse flora and fauna of the area. After a two or three minute walk into the cave your guide will give you a talk on the geology of the area as well as on cave archaeology – feel free to put him to the test with your questions. Ten more minutes of walking up the cave with only your headlights to shine your way and you will be getting into that refreshing splash of underground water. For the next 1½ hours you will be swirling past stalactites and stalagmites, at times enjoying the peacefulness of only the water drops from the ceiling playing a percussion of cave music. Your guide will give you a chance or two to float in total darkness and experience that timeless and weightless feeling.

Tour includes Blue Hole swimming area for an optional refreshing dip before your journey back to your hotel.
